Wildcat Family -
We hope that this finds you and your family doing well and staying healthy. We also appreciate all who are staying engaged and connected with us - whether it be doing schoolwork through the Learning from Home sites, participating in online class meetings, taking advantage of our “to go” meal program, or simply just emailing teachers to let us know you’re OK.
We have a few items that we’ve received questions on that we’ll try to answer with this email. We apologize for the length of the email, but there are processes we need to follow.
First, our last day of school for this year will be Friday, May 15.
On Tuesday, May 19, K-5 families will be able to pick-up personal items, yearbooks and spring pictures in a drive-thru format at each school. Teachers will have bagged up all items in student desks. Families are asked to post their student name(s) in their car window when they come. Staff members will bring the bags to the pick-up spot for you. Also, if you have library books or 1,000 Book Club bags (ECC), there will be a tub for you to drop those items into.
At McEowen, please use the front circle drive. You will get personal items, yearbooks (paid for by Harrisonville PTO) and spring pictures (if you purchased them).
At HES, please use the front circle drive for drop-off & showing the student name, then you will be directed to the staff parking/gym drive for pick-up. At HES, you will get personal items; yearbooks may not be ready for pick-up.
At ECC, please use the kindergarten drop-off drive on the south side of the school. You will get personal items and yearbooks (paid for by Harrisonville PTO).
The pick-up/drop-off for ECC, HES, & McEowen will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, May 19 ONLY. If you cannot come or do not wish to come, we will hold all bags until next school year.
For HMS, if you do not have anything to return to school or you do not have anything you need in your locker, you do not need to do anything. For those of you who need to return Chromebooks and chargers, hot spots, library books, or show choir vests, we will have drive-thru drop-off the week of May 18-21. Times will be 8 a.m.-3 p.m. on Monday, May 18, Tuesday, May 19 and Thursday, May 21; and 10 a.m.-6 p.m. on Wednesday, May 20. There will be marked tubs in the main loop at the front of the school - please pull thru, one person can step out & place items in tubs, and then exit. If you need to get items from your locker, please use this link to sign up for a time - https://www.signupgenius.com/go/20F0D45ABAB22A5F58-hmspersonal1. We will have 15-minute entry slots and no more than 7 students per slot in the building. Please bring a bag to put your items in. Again, pull in the circle, drop off items in tubs, & enter the building through the front door. The driver will pull through the circle and drive to the sixth grade door (north door) to pick you up. If you do not sign-up or come at a different time, you will not be allowed to enter the building. Also, yearbooks will be passed out at this time as well.
For HHS, the pick-up/drop-off will run May 18-21 in the front drive. Times will be 8 a.m.-3 p.m. on Monday, May 18, Tuesday, May 19 and Thursday, May 21; and 10 a.m.-6 p.m. on Wednesday, May 20. All students will need to turn in their Chromebook and charger (the exception is for those taking a summer school class such as health or personal finance - information on summer school is coming soon). Students who have textbooks, library books, or any other school property will be able to drop all items in designated tubs in the front drive of the school. If you need to get items from your school or PE/sports locker, please use this link to sign up for a time - https://www.signupgenius.com/go/20F0D45ABAB22A5F58-hhspersonal1. We will have 15-minute entry slots and no more than 7 students per slot in the building. Please bring a bag to put your items in. If you sign-up to enter the school, please park in the teacher lot in the front of the school. If you do not sign-up or come at a different time, you will not be allowed to enter the building.
We want to emphasize safety for you and our staff. Please do not come if you do not need to and please follow all directions provided in this email and from staff on site. These pick-up/drop-off events are not to be “gathering” events - please stay in your car unless you are a middle or high school student entering the building.
Please note that Chromebooks will be “turned off” on May 29.
We hope that you continue to stay safe and let your teachers know how we can help you.
If you have questions about the pick-up/drop-off process, please email your building principal.
