As of today, students have missed 11 days of school during the 2018-19 school year. Ten days were missed due to inclement weather and one day was missed due to a water main break at McEowen.
The state passed legislation several years ago that requires schools to make up every day missed due to inclement weather until you miss the seventh day. At that point, one day must be made up for every two days missed until 14 days are missed. After the 14th day missed, no more days are required to be made up.
This means that as of today, we are required to make up eight days for inclement weather and one day for the water main break. The last day of school is now May 31 and it's a half day for students
Days missed this year include Nov. 27, Jan. 14, Jan. 17, Jan. 23, Jan. 30, Feb. 6-8, Feb. 15, Feb. 20, and Feb. 27 (Jan. 17 was the water main break).
