Make-Up Days

**Updated as of 2/20 - With the snow day on Feb. 20, our last day of school is now Friday, May 31 which will be a half day for students.

**Updated:  We also missed Friday, Feb. 15, however it was inclement day #8 and therefore will not need to be a make-up day according to the chart below.

As of Friday, Feb., 8, we have missed 8 days of school this year - Nov. 27, Jan. 14, Jan. 17, Jan. 23, Jan. 30 and Feb. 6-8.  One of the days - Jan. 17 - was not due to weather, but to a water main break at McEowen Elementary.

The state passed legislation several years ago that requires schools to make up every day missed due to inclement weather until you miss the seventh day. At that point, one day must be made up for every two days missed until 14 days are missed. After the 14th day missed, no more days are required to be made up.  That’s a possibility of 10 inclement weather make-up days.

At this point, we are required to make up 7 days due to inclement weather and one due to the water main break for a total of 8 days. Therefore the last day of class at this time is May 30 which will be a half day for students.
