The Harrisonville High School Student Council hosted the annual Senior Citizens’ Thanksgiving Banquet on Monday, November 19. More than 250 community members attended the event which included a traditional Thanksgiving meal and entertainment provided by the jazz band and Music Makers.
The Event sponsors ($100 or $200) included Dogwood Energy Facility, Reece & Nichols, Steve Croy-State Farm Insurance, D and D Enterprises, Inc, Harrisonville Family Medicine, Cameron Chenoweth, Hawthorn Bank, United Heating & Cooling, Dickey Funeral Home and Custom Dental. Dinner sponsors ($50 & $75) were Sherwood Bank, Quality Auto, Coffelt Land and Title, Farm Bureau, Patrons & Farmers Mutual, Atkinson Funeral Home, Harrisonville Animal Clinic, Crouch, Spangler and Douglas, Highlight Construction, Daryl Bohannon, and Community Bank of Harrisonville. The Turkey sponsors ($20) Bennett Signs, Friedrich Law Office, David Pritchett Insurance, Lacey Domnick, Family Chiropractic, Schroeder Chiropractic, Franklin and Company, Keeper Antique Mall, Real Yoga, and A World of Smiles.
The turkeys were prepared by Kurzweil’s Country Meats and students and students at Harrisonville Elementary School made the placemats. Coffee was provided by Thyme for Seasoning Catering and the Dooley family provided the paperware.
The banquet committee was led by HHS students Breezy Semler and Colleen O’Reilly.
