Virtual Learning Info

Dear Kindergarten Virtual Learners,

We hope this email finds you well and you are enjoying your summer. Our records indicate that you have chosen the virtual learning path for your kindergarten student this semester. Please remember this commitment is for the entire first semester, ending December 24th.

ECC Virtual Learning Cohort Contact

Mrs. Kristen Torres, one of our kindergarten teachers, will be the first contact point should you have questions or concerns. You can reach her at or by calling (816)380-4421 ext 2808. She will be available to check emails and return phone calls daily.

Computer Pick-up

Thursday, August 20th 8:00 am - 3:00 pm will be our ECC Virtual Learning computer pick-up and information day. There will be a limit of two students per time slot. Each student may only bring two adults (must be parent or guardian) and all those entering the building must wear a mask while in the building. Please choose one time slot from those available on the Sign-Up Genius. You must have an appointment time to enter the building. If you have more than one child picking up a device, please list each child separately. When picking up your child's device, you will also be given a charger, technology agreement and technology release.

K-5 students on our virtual learning platforms will not have to pay the $10 insurance fee that our secondary students pay. However, you will be responsible for any damage as follows:

Destruction of Computer - $200

Lost or Stolen Device - $150

Screen - $30

Track Pad - $30

Keyboard (missing keys) - $30

Liquid Spill - $100

Power Cable - $25

Grades will be given for virtual students as they are for in-person students. Mrs. Torres or one of our Title 1 teachers will be assessing students virtually throughout the semester.

Mrs. Torres will have a sample schedule to give you when picking up your computer. This will give you a good idea of what your child's day will look like. This schedule will include the amount of time for each part of their day, the subject area, how information will be delivered, what portions are teacher-led, and which parts will be independent student work.

Harrisonville District Device Support

Should your child have issues with the computer itself, please reach out to Dianne Cowan at (816)380-2727 ext 1306.
