Nominate an Outstanding Educator or Staff Member by Feb. 27

The Harrisonville School District is seeking nominations for its end-of-the-year awards. All nominations are due Feb. 27, 2026.

The Rising Star Award is designed to honor a certified staff member (non-administrative) who is new to the field of education (5 or fewer years of teaching/school experience) and has already demonstrated the ability to have a positive impact on students.  The winner will receive a cash award of $100 sponsored by Community Bank of Harrisonville.

The Educator of the Year Award is presented to a teacher who has had a special impact on students in the district.  The Educator of the Year receives a $500 grant from the Harrisonville Public School Foundation for use in his/her classroom.

The Support Staff Employee of the Year is designed to show the district’s appreciation for its support staff employees.  Any non-certified employee in the district can be nominated for this award.  This includes secretaries, paraprofessionals, custodians, food service personnel, maintenance, nurses, etc. The winner will receive a cash award of $100 sponsored by Sherwood Community Bank.

Community members and families are encouraged to submit nominations to help recognize the outstanding individuals who make a difference in Harrisonville Schools every day. Nominations for all awards are due February 27, 2026.
