Coffey places in top 10 at Educators Rising National Conference
Cass Career Center and Harrisonville High School senior Emma Coffey brought home a top 10 finish from the National Educators Rising Conference in Washington, D.C. in early July.
Emma earned first place at the State Educators Rising conference and competed at the national level. Emma earned first in the “Explore Non-Core Subject Teaching Careers” category at State in early March. She interviewed and created a presentation focused on her marketing instructor Amy Schroeder and her work at CCC. At the national competition, Emma presented her work and was judged on the content of her slides, presentation, presence, depth of analysis, and overall impact. She participated in a Q&A with the judges following her presentation which was a part of her final score.
Emma traveled to D.C. with her Teaching Professions Instructor Karli Snider. The four-day conference also included breakout sessions, keynote presentations, and opportunities to meet and interact with students and teachers from across the United States.
Emma will begin her second year of the CCC Teaching Professions program in August. During her first year, she passed her Paraprofessional Certification exam. She will also serve as the DECA President during the 2024-25 school year.
