Homecoming 2017 is set for Friday, September 15. The day will include a community pep rally, parade, coronation, and football game. The Harrisonville High School Student Council has chosen the theme - “A Sweet Homecoming - Candyland.”
The community wide pep rally, which has previously been held on Thursday night, will now take place on Friday morning at 9:30 a.m. The rally will be held at Memorial Stadium and all district students will be transported to the event. The pep rally is also open to community members and will include introduction of the Homecoming candidates and fall sports teams, performances by the cheerleaders and dance team, and games.
The annual Homecoming parade will begin Friday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. The parade will once again begin and end at the city park. However this year, the parade route will run from city park, south on Independence to the square, left on Pearl to Bradley, then north on Bradley back to city park. The Homecoming football game will feature the Wildcats vs. the Excelsior Springs Tigers with kick-off at 7 p.m. Prior to kick-off, the 2017 Homecoming king and queen will be crowned with the coronation beginning at 6:30 p.m.
