Professional Development
The Harrisonville Schools Professional Development Program has four distinct but interactive and complementary strands:

District-wide planning and implementation to promote school improvement and improved instructional practices for the entire staff.
- Curriculum development to implement, maintain, evaluate and continuously refine the curriculum, instruction, and assessment program.
- Building-based professional development to give building staff the opportunity to address areas of in-service needs unique to the staff and students at each school site.
- Individual opportunity and assistance for the individual to enhance his or her knowledge and teaching competencies.

Professional Development Days
Professional Development Days are included in the Harrisonville Schools’ calendar. These professional opportunities are planned to specifically address the overall improvement goals of the school system, district and building Comprehensive School Improvement Plans, state mandates, and MSIP requirements, and may include meetings or workshops for curriculum analysis and improvement, technology training, and other objectives of District and Building Professional Development Plans.
