Our Endowment

The Harrisonville Public School Foundation has reached a milestone in the first phase of its General Endowment campaign. Over 100 individuals, businesses, and groups have become Founding Donors, giving $1,000 to the Foundation's General Endowment. The General Endowment fund will ensure the perpetuity of the Foundation's programming including teacher grants, scholarships, the early childhood education initiative, and the advanced degree teacher initiative.

The Founding Donors phase of the General Endowment campaign sought 100 donors who would pledge $1,000 or more to the Foundation over a two-year period. The campaign came to a close on June 18, 2009 with the unveiling of the Foundation's Tree of Knowledge in the Harrisonville High School Performing Arts Center lobby. The Founding Donors campaign raised over $125,000 and includes 102 donors.

The Foundation recognizes donors at varying levels. Bronze level contributors give $1,000-$2,499 and are recognized with a gold leaf on the tree. Silver level donors give $2,500-$4,999 and are honored with a silver leaf. Foundation Gold contributors are recognized with an apple and give $5,000-$9,999. The top level of recognition is given to Platinum level donors who give $10,000 or more.

The Tree of Knowledge was made possible through community donations to the Mill-Walk Mall coin fountain which were matched by Bill and Joy Mills.

The second phase of the General Endowment campaign - the Sustaining Donors drive - is currently underway. The Foundation is seeking 100 individuals to pledge $1,000 to the Foundation over a two year period.
