Deena Roedel is currently a full-time instructor for the Practical Nursing Program. She currently teaches courses for Fundamentals, IV Therapy, Medical-Surgical Nursing II & III and Maternal Child Nursing. She also provides clinical instruction.
Deena earned a Bachelor's of Science in Nursing Degree from Rockhurst University/Research College of Nursing in 2010. She received her Master's in Nursing Education in December of 2017 from the University of Central Missouri.
Deena currently works as a charge nurse on a nephrology/metabolic/transplant unit. Additionally, Deena has an abundance of experience caring for postpartum, oncology, ortho, neuro, trauma, general medical surgical, cardiac and pulmonary patients as a float pool nurse. Deena found her love of teaching after precepting many new nurses and working closely with nurses and physicians, hospital wide, learning how to better use the hospital's computer order entry system. Deena has 2 years of clinical teaching experience for BSN students in community health, adult health, and assessment.
