MEET THE INSTRUCTORS
Denniele Bohannon has been a Cass Career Center Adult/Community Education quilting teacher since 2007. She taught in the Harrisonville School District for 24 years. She has been a quilter for almost 40 years and has co-authored her first book, Where Poppies Grow, published by The Kansas City Star. Denniele and her husband Meryl are parents to five grown children, grandparents to five precious grandkids, and owners of two spoiled chocolate labrador retrievers. You can follow Denniele on Facebook at Louanna Mary Quilt Design. If you follow the laughter at CCC, you can find the quilting class.
I’ve loved sewing almost all my life. I learned to sew in school, back in the day when they taught girls to sew and cook – cooking didn’t take, but sewing did.
Quilting was something I had wanted to learn for a long time, and when Denniele started teaching quilt making at Cass Career Center, I was hooked. I really have a need to be creative, I’m happiest when I’m making something, and quilting truly fulfills that need. At Cass Career Center, I really enjoy teaching others, alongside Ginger, in both Beginner’s Sewing and Kids Sewing.
When I’m not sewing or creating I love to travel. I have family and friends in England and my two fantastic grandkids live in Idaho.
Ginger first became acquainted with CCC in the 90’s when Metropolitan Community College offered classes here. She took her first quilting class here with Denniele Bohannon 10 years ago and she continues to take classes with us. Ginger is the RN Surgery Coordinator at Cass Regional Medical Center and has been a nurse for over 35 years. She has a great love for all children (spending years as a Boy Scout leader) and very much enjoys teaching them to sew. Ginger has three sons that attended Harrisonville schools: Jeremy, Kristofer and Kyle. She has two grandsons, Hudson and Maxwell.

SUPPLIES FROM START TO FINISH
Some of our quilting classes include a supply list. Once you are registered, you will receive a confirmation email with a supply list included (if needed). Hunters Quilt Mart and Rossville Quilts (below) have supported our Community Education program in many ways. If you are looking for two great businesses to support, we encourage you to visit them online or in-person! However, you are always welcome to purchase your supplies anywhere you wish.
Quilting by David is a family-owned and operated business that has finished many quilts created in our classes. Ordering is as easy as completing an order form on their website! David and Karen have TONS of experience in helping choose pattern styles and/or thread colors if you can't decide. Take a look at their website (by clicking their logo below) where you can view different pattern styles, thread colors, pricing, and a gallery of their completed quilts.
