Jerald Brown Memorial Scholarship

The family of Jerald Scott Brown endeavor to keep his giving spirit alive by helping Cass County high school seniors with their welding education. Jerald was a native Missourian, born January 3, 1998. He was raised in the city of Belton and developed into a fine person. His life was rich in faith and he never shied away from helping others. He was a lover of the great outdoors, horses, fishing and hunting. Jerald was an active member of FFA, a patriot of our country, and attained the honorable rank of Eagle Scout in BSA. As a junior at Belton High School, he discovered his love of welding. He started in the school’s welding program and advanced his education by attending The Missouri Welding Institute in Nevada, Missouri. Along his journey, he had many mentors who inspired him to give back, work hard, and take pride in himself and his vocation. Jerald was a 2016 graduate of Belton High School and attended Cass Career Center's Welding Program for two years.

Each year, the Jerald Brown Welding Scholarship Fund will award one $500 scholarship to a Cass County, Missouri, high school senior who will be attending the Missouri Welding Institute with a start date between May and September of the current year.
