Mrs. Emily Schaeffer
Since graduating Truman State University in 2014 with a BA in music and an MA in education, Emily has been an active percussion educator in Missouri. In her tenure at Truman, she was an involved member of the percussion studio and the community through many diverse ensembles, serving as president of the Truman percussion society, and interning with an outdoor education program at the local elementary school. She worked with Jefferson City Public Schools, Neosho, Harrisonville, and Lafayette as a student teacher, clinician, and technician prior to teaching in Harrisonville. Her performance career also includes a background in the marching arts including Colts Drum & Bugle Corps (2009-2010) and Gateway Indoor Percussion (2011-2012). She is an active member of the Percussive Arts Society and enjoys supporting the percussion community on a local and national level.
Emily has been influenced greatly by many fantastic educators and performers including Bret Kuhn, Mike McIntosh, Michael Bump, Mark Ford, Chris McLaurin and Amanda Loeffler.
