Mr. Ben Johnson
Mr. Johnson graduated from the UMKC Conservatory of Music in 2005 with a Bachelors of Music Education. While attending UMKC he studied trumpet under Dr. Keith Benjamin and played in ensembles conducted and directed by Dr. Joe Parisi. From 2005 to 2009 he taught K-12 general music, choir and band in Fair Play, Missouri. While teaching at Fair Play, he went back to school at Southwest Baptist University and received his Masters of Science in Education in June of 2008. Mr. Johnson accepted the band director position at Warsaw in 2009 and remained at Warsaw until 2015. While in Warsaw his bands received numerous "I" ratings and performed at the Field Museum in Chicago and at the Missouri School Board Association's annual convention at Tan-Tar-a. After Warsaw, he accepted the high school band position at Harrisonville High School where he is currently teaching.
In addition to teaching, Mr. Johnson has performed professionally in both the Springfield and Kansas City areas. He is married to Kate Johnson and has a daughter who attends school in Harrisonville.
