McEowen Elementary School is home to fourth and fifth grade students. Each month the school recognizes student achievement at a Positive Action Assembly.

McEowen Elementary is also home to the Rockford Living History Classroom, a completely restored one-room classroom. This project was funded by community donations and is open to fourth graders throughout the county.

•  34 Presidential Scholars   (given to students who make ALL A's during 4th and 5th grade) in 2008

•  139 students met their reading goals every month during 07-08

•  50 students completed individual reading challenges during 07-08 (Mark Twain and KC3)

•  Honor Roll—all A's during the 2007-2008 school year -  3rd grade—5; 4th grade--40; 5th grade--9
