Mission Statement of the Rock Ford School Living History Classroom

The Rock Ford School will offer an opportunity to relive the experience of a typical day in a one-room school for every fourth grade student in Cass County . It will help preserve this rural educational heritage for future generations.

About Rockford
Rockford is a one-room schoolhouse which sits on the campus of McEowen Elementary. It has been complete restored to its original design complete with student desks, books, pot-bellied stove, and much more.

Rockford is available to all students in Cass County. Teachers may schedule a day-long visit to Rockford and take their students back in time by following a curriculum specifically designed to recapture the spirit of the one-room schoolhouse
