DISTRICT NEWS

Free & Reduced Meal Program -- Breakfast/Lunch essential to student success
Proper nutrition plays an important role in the success of our students.  Making sure students have access to healthy meals at breakfast and lunch helps ensure they can work to their potential in our classrooms.  One of the services the district provides to ensure ALL students have access to affordable meals is the Free & Reduced Meal program.  Students from families whose income is at or below the level provided by the Federal Income Guidelines may be eligible for either free or reduced price meals. Reduced price meals are 40 cents per lunch or 30 cents per breakfast (compared to the regular price of $1.25/breakfast and $1.75 or $2.00/lunch).   To apply for free or reduced price meals at any time, complete the application which can be obtained from your child's school office or the website and return it to the principal. You may also obtain an application at the District Food and Nutrition Services Office, 1200 Eastwood Road.  Additional information about the Free & Reduced Meal program is available on the district website at www.harrisonvilleschools.org/lunch.asp or call 380-4226 , ext. 1021.

Items to Note

Last Day of School
The final day of classes for the school year is now a half day on Thursday, June 4.

It's Cold Outside!
We go outside every day the weather permits. Thus, students need to come prepared. Each child should have a warm coat with a hood or a hat and gloves. Feet are also a concern in cold weather. Please be sure your child wears socks with tennis shoes or boots.
