What is the Pyramid of Interventions? |
Harrisonville Elementary School's Pyramid of Intervention is a multi-tiered intervention system that enables early identification and intervention for students who may be at academic or behavioral risk.
It is a pro-active approach to education in which the school does not wait for a student to fail before "help" is provided.
It focuses on identifying students who are struggling and provides layers of research based interventions in order to help the students be successful in school.
There are three tiers in the intervention process.
Students move up and down the continuum of Tiers based on the need for additional services.
As students move up the continuum of Tiers, the frequency and intensity of interventions increase.
