Meet Mrs. Donnell

Dear Parents,

Welcome to First Grade at Harrisonville Elementary School!!! My name is Elizabeth Donnell and this is my fourth year teaching.  I’m excited for this year to begin because we’re going to have so much fun getting to know each other and learning new things!

Just a little side note about myself…  I graduated from the University of Central Missouri in 2008 with a Bachelors in Early Childhood and Elementary Education. I have been married to my husband, Tyler for 7 wonderful years! We live in Independence with our dog Max and our beautiful daughter, Grace who is 4 years old!! She keeps us laughing and on our toes at all times! We will be expecting our second daughter, Shelby in September. I love to scrapbook, make people laugh and go on walks! I try to always have a positive attitude and a smile on my face with no matter what I’m faced with! My husband and I help teach 2 and 3 year olds at our church and enjoy playing games with friends and family!

I’m a huge family person so you’ll probably see pictures of my family all over my room. I have three beautiful sisters, who are my best friends. My oldest sister Christina lives in Blue Springs with her husband and their four wonderful children, Kaylee (16), Ethan (11), Alexis (9) and Isaiah (4). My second oldest sister, Stephanie also lives in Blue Springs with her husband and daughters, Shayla (7) and Maecy (2). My little sister Rachael lives in Philidephia with her husband and their two cats, where her husband is in medical school.

The glue that holds us all together, are my parents, David and Cheryl, who also live in Blue Springs (not too far from my sisters) where I grew up. They are the reason why I love to teach today, because they taught me so much in life. If you see me wear a pink bracelet everyday- it’s because I wear it to honor my mother who is a breast cancer survivor. When I look down at that bracelet, I see strength, hope and love and remember that there isn’t anything that God can’t handle. You also might see my mom working in our classroom a few times here and there!

I can’t wait to share many funny stories about my family with our class, and in turn hear stories about your family! Please remember that I want our relationship to be open and if you ever have any questions or concerns, please let me know!

I look forward to working with you this year!

Sincerely,

Elizabeth Donnell
