Harrisonville Early Childhood Center

Becky Campbell,
ECC Principal

Principal's Welcome

Welcome to the Early Childhood Center! ECC is dedicated to the success of all students. Our staff is committed to a safe and nurturing environment for students to grow and develop. Students are challenged through creatively rich and developmentally appropriate activities. As we work to establish this foundation of learning, we recognize the importance of our families. We welcome all parents and community members to partner with us as their children grow with us each day.

As students enter school, it is our goal to ensure that their first experience is a successful one. The kindergarten teachers are dedicated to making the transition from home to school smooth. Kindergarten is an exciting place as we also prepare all students by providing the foundation for learning that will take place for the rest of a student's life.

In addition, we offer playschool for children that turn three before August 1st and preschool for children that turn four before August 1st. Playschool provides the young child an opportunity to interact with peers in a school setting. Preschool provides the young child opportunities and experiences to develop readiness skills.

The Parents As Teachers program is a voluntary family education and support program that is free to all parents in the district with children ages birth to five. The program is based on the belief that parents are their child's first and most important teachers. The program offers personal visits, screenings, playgroups and group meetings for parents and their children.

In closing, I would like to share a quote by Benjamin Disraeli. "The secret of success is constancy to purpose." The staff at the Early Childhood Center would like to invite you to share in our mission:
School + Home = Partnership
Children + Activity = Learning
Partnership + Learning = Success
