Super Citizen Assembly Recap
Kindergarten students and teachers at the Harrisonville Early Childhood Center were honored at a recent assembly.
To begin the assembly, kindergarten student Jacob Morris led the Pledge of Allegiance.
Each month, the Harrisonville Optimist Club presents Super Citizen awards to students who exemplify the character trait of the month. Those students named Super Citizens for May include Alec Adame, Marissa Worthley, Aireana Murray, Evan Filer, Jared Leeper, Johnathen Peterson-Adams, Charley Hammonds, Cailin Hayward, Savannah Meade, and Colby Knowles . The students received a certificate, an Applebee's gift certificate, and a Super Citizen t-shirt.
The school also recognizes a staff member as a Super Citizen each month. Early Childhood Center Principal Becky Campbell was named the May Staff Super Citizens. She also received a Super Citizen's t-shirt and a gift certificate from Applebee's.
In addition to the Super Citizens, students are also recognized for their work and behavior in music, art, and physical education classes. At the May assembly, Specials teachers Brooke Dubray and Sammie Hill recognized the following students in music: Brayden Gillespie, Rachael Lakin, Kya Boesson, Johnathan Peterson-Adams, Austin Alvarado, Katelyn Kopper, Brianna Mason, Jake McMahan, and Tristin Nguyen . Those students recognized for their efforts in PE were Taylor Fordyce, Ben Riffle, Kevin Inman, Ireland Slover, T.J. Harms, Katelyn Kopper, Addison Sousley, C.J. Daugherty, and Nicholas Bunger . Students honored for their work in art were Jared Moreland, Brodie Rogers, Will Charlton, Ashlee Shepard, Allison Maynard, Vanessa Peters, Clint Rhodes, Corey Turner, and Megan Gonzalez .
Entertainment at the assembly was provided by Mrs. Rebecca Wilson and Ms. Jennifer Berry's classed who performed songs and poems about summer. |
