Homecoming 2008

Harrisonville Schools will be celebrating Homecoming the week of September 22-26.

This year the theme for HHS's homecoming is “Blast from the Past.”

All buildings will participate in Spirit Week activities. At HHS, Monday is PJ Day, Tuesday is Stoplight Day, Wednesday is Twin Day, Thursday is Decade Day, and Friday is Blue and White Day.   Spirit days for the Early Childhood Center, Harrisonville Elementary School, McEowen Elementary School, and Harrisonville Middle School are as follows: Monday – Slipper Day (Twin Day at HMS); Tuesday – Crazy Sock Day; Wednesday – Favorite Team Day; Thursday – Hat Day; and Friday – Blue and White Day.

The City-wide Homecoming Kick-Off pep rally will be Monday, September 22 following the junior varsity football game at Memorial Stadium at 6 p.m. The event honors all fall athletes and the homecoming royalty.  In addition, the HHS Royal Regiment and Music Makers will be performing.  At the conclusion of the pep rally, the Senior Mania parents will be hosting a jersey auction.  The community is encouraged to attend and purchase their favorite Wildcat athlete's jersey to wear on Homecoming Friday.  This event is a fundraiser for project graduation. Homecoming t-shirts will also be sold that night.

            On Friday, September 26, there will be a pep rally at Harrisonville High School starting at 9 a.m. in the HHS gymnasium.  The pep rally will include performances from the Silver Sensations, HHS Cheerleaders, as well as recognition of the homecoming court and fall athletes.  Each class will participate in class competitions throughout the assembly.  

The Homecoming Parade will be Friday starting at 2 p.m.  The parade will travel west on Elm, south on Price, west on Pearl, south on Lexington, east on Wall, north on King, east on Pearl, north on Price and then east on Elm back to the high school.  If your organization of business would like to participate in the annual parade please contact Emily Taylor at HHS at 380-3273, ext. 6850 or taylorem@harrisonville.k12.mo.us.

The coronation of the Homecoming king and queen will take place on Friday before the varsity football game at approximately 6:30 p.m. The game kicks off at 7 p.m. and the Wildcats will host the Pleasant Hill Roosters. Queen candidates are Kayla Birchfield, Sabrina Bryant, Brooke Kendall, Kaila Leipard, Rachel Messamaker, and Kaitlin Travis. King candidates are Ethan Endicott, Dereck Hensley, Dallas Herndon, LeRoy Mefford, Cody Morse, and Derek Naida.
