The Cass County Alternative School is operated by the Harrisonville Cass R-IX School District and is open to students in the district.

The alternative school provides a "fresh start" for at-risk students, who usually have difficulties relating in a large school setting. The program provides more specialized instruction and provides the students with one-on-one attention.

• 15 students have graduated from their high school after finishing coursework at the Cass County Alternative School

• Students use NovaNET curriculum, which is an internet-based educational program approved by the Missouri School Boards Association
